Nested between the Santa Ynez mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara is often referred to as the American Riviera for its Mediterranean climate and the relaxed yet vibrant lifestyle. It is easy to find rare vintage treasures in the community full of visual artists, design aficionados, and collectors. I am fortunate to call this town my home. Hygge Living was born out of my love for mid-century design, particularly the simplicity and clean lines of Scandinavian interiors, and the lack of space in my home to keep all the treasures for myself. When I am not scouring estate sales and vintage shops for special pieces, I design and make table linens in my textile studio, FOLD.

The Danish concept "hygge" is at the heart of how I select the things I bring into my own home as well as my shop. "Hygge" (pronounced 'hoo-ga') is the art of celebrating the simple pleasures of life with family and friends, of creating a sanctuary in your home, of enjoying the present, of slowing down and lingering over a cup of coffee or a shared meal. I hope my shop can inspire you to create your own version of hygge that's unique, meaningful, and, above all, cozy.
